When it comes to installing a brake controller on your 2002 Workhorse P Series you first need to make sure you have a 7 round electrical harness on the back of your Workhorse. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7 includes all the wiring and accessories required for the installation of the trailer brake controller.
After the wiring is installed then The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90195 will work with your Workhorse. The P3 has a splice in wiring harness which you will have to splice into the # ETBC7, that I mentioned above.
The controller has 3 boost levels that let you adjust initial braking power and aggressiveness. It also has 5 storable settings that let you customize the controller for multiple trailers, varying loads or different drivers. You can mount the controller at 360 degrees.
I attached a review video link below.
