Question:
Hello, So here is my problem - I have a tandem axel enclosed trailer 3500lb axels with the Dexter EZ-Flex Equalizer upgrade that I installed a few years back - I’m really wanting to try the Road Armor Equalizer but if I use my existing bolt hole on my hanger it will sit really close to the ground maybe I would have 2 inches of clearance - So I saw someone had drilled a new hole in their hanger and that solved that problem but by doing that will I change the geometry of the suspension? I was going to drill a new hole and then use longer shackles if need be - So with my trailer empty and new equalizers installed along with new springs should the shackles be at the 45 degree angle - or is there a starting angle your shackles should be at - I just don’t want to do all this work and the angles are not good and im not getting the most out of the road armor unit - Also in your opinion is it worth the upgrade from the Dexter EZ-Flex to the Road Armor unit? Thank you

Let's start with the most important question you asked first...is it worth it to upgrade from the EZ Flex equalizers to the Road Armor. Honestly it's not going to give you a noticeable improvement so it would basically just be a waste of your time and money. BUT I do have a different solution that will get you what you are looking for.
What I would recommend is a shock kit like the Lippert kit part # LC281255. This will make a huge improvement in ride quality and won't affect ground clearance like you were concerned about either. Shocks slow the movement of the suspension which makes it much smoother.
Installing the Road Armor in higher hanger bolt holes wouldn't make an improvement either since you asked about that. It would bring the suspension and axles up with it so it wouldn't gain you what you'd need.
