Question:

Hello I have a 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition and I’m looking to purchase a trailer hitch to install on it. I see you all sell a couple different ones and want to make sure I get the right one and all the extra accessories would need for connecting the lights to a trailer and the ball at the end. Always a smart idea to check and make sure, and we do indeed have trailer hitch receivers and wiring for a 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness. Let's go ahead and start with the hitch, and for that the best option is the following:

- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR

I really like the # e25TR because it is a bolt-on installation that does not require any drilling into your frame to install and has a concealed look so only the receiver is showing.

Let's move onto the wiring harness, and for that go with an option from Tekonsha because we have found over time that Tekonsha makes the most reliable wiring harnesses in the industry. The correct fit for your '22 Outback is the following:

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467

Then for a ball mount you can make sure you have one with the rise or drop you need by going with an adjustable ball mount, the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount - 5-1/4" Rise, 6-3/4" Drop # C45901. It comes with a pin and clip, but if you'd like to lock it you can do so with Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881. You will also need a hitch ball, depending on your trailer coupler's size, the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63847 or 2" Hitch Ball # 63845.
