205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel for Highway Use

Published 05/29/2022

Question:

The tire size 205/65-10 is a suitable replacement for the old tire size 20.5x8-10. I just wanted to confirm my application with the information you presented. I have a cargo trailer that was given to me by my uncle that has dual axles and the tire size 20.5 x 8–10. I don’t know the weight rating on the axles but it’s a decent size trailer 6x12 so it’s probably on the higher end. It also has trailer brakes but it’s the old style that works off of pressure from the hitch as the towing vehicle slowing down. I want to make sure I get the right tire because occasionally this will be on the highway. I’ve never seen a cargo trailer with tires this small so load rating and speed rating are important. Sorry I don’t have better pictures but the trailer is in another town. Please advise.

Thanks for the picture! The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel item # AM3H480 you were looking at are a Load Range E. These are the highest rated tires and will have no problem performing at highway speeds. These tires have a maximum load of 1,650 lbs at 90 psi each. The wheel tire combo you were looking at has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern so you will want to confirm that is what you have on your trailer.

We also have this tire wheel combo available in a 5 on 5-1/2 lug pattern. They are the Kenda Loadstar 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire w/ 10" Solid Center Wheel - 5 on 5-1/2 - LR E item # AM3H454.

We do sell the tires separately if you are not wanting to replace your rims. They are the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range E item # AM1HP56.
