Question:
Am i understanding that this unit takes the brake wires from truck factory 4-wire trailer system and converts it to actuate the electric brakes on the trailer? Wont the turn signals activate either side or if hazards will it actuate as well since turn signal wires are actually part of the braking system? Will the progressive braking also affect the trailer lights brightness?

Expert Reply:
The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR requires a 7-way in order to activate the brakes on your trailer. It is not tied to the lights on the trailer at all. The blue brake output wire which runs to the 7-way at the rear of the vehicle sends power through the 7-way on the trailer which connects to the brakes. The brakes will be applied in proportion to the deceleration of the vehicle.
Since you do not already have a 7-way on your vehicle you will need to add one using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56413. Once this is installed you can install the # RED24FR using the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # 331-TPH-007.
I have attached some installation videos for your reference.
