Do I Need To Run A Separate Power Line For My 7-Way Connector, Part EBTC7L
Updated 05/25/2022 | Published 05/20/2022 >
Question:
I previously installed the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector 118786 to my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited no tow package. This 4-pole connector install had be run a fused, 12v power line from the battery back to the control module in the tail light area. Now I purchased a 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L, which also requires a separate 12v line up to the battery. My question: is there any reason I could not tap off the existing fused, 12v battery line that I ran to the tail during the 118786 install for the install? split the 12v wire just before the 118786 module so the line supplies both the module and the new ETBC7L 7-way. I am curious if I really have to run a second power line all the way up to the battery. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you will have to run a second power line for the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires, part # ETBC7L, if you need the 12V accessory power for your trailer. The circuitry of each connector is different, so you will need to run both power lines separately. I would recommend this, even if you do not intend on using the 12V power. It will be handy to have in a pinch.
I have included a video review link below.
