I have a 2019 VW Jetta. And two TREK 6 Marlin mountain bikes. Is the Thule Gateway a good rack for hauling these two bikes?

Yes! I confirmed with Thule that the Thule Gateway Pro 2 Bike Rack # TH88VR fits a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. As far as the shape of the sharp slanted downtubes of your bikes, I recommend using a bike frame adapter bar # RRRBCA021 for each bike. This adapter bar will provide your bikes with a straight, horizontal plane that is required to attach to the arms of the rack. I went ahead and attached a video that shows how the adapter works with a bike frame similar to yours. As far as weight capacity, the 35 pound per-bike capacity of the rack is perfect for your 32-pound Marlin 6.

As far as the fit dial setting you need on your Jetta, it is setting 7.
