Question:
So i can run off of the running lights? Why wouldn't i be able to switch it? I would only be drawing power from the running light circuit, the switch would be after the running light. Remeber this is on a slide in camper/topper, not the actual truck lights.

Another option than running the LED light to the battery is by running the wiring to the running lights. Although, this can be just as difficult as running it to the battery.
The best route is to run the wiring to the reverse lights. However, if you go this route, you must go without a switch option. The only way to use a switch is to go directly to the battery.
If you need extra wiring for the application, I recommend using the 18-Gauge 2-Wire Bonded Parallel Conductor Wire - per Foot # SWC97FR along with some Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 22-18 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Red - Qty 10 # DW05743-10.
