In order to know what roof rack you need to use the Thule Hullavator # TH898 on your 2018 Honda CR-V, it depends on if you have flush factory rails or a bare roof on your vehicle. Also, the space between the feet where you install the crossbars is important as well. This is because the Thule Hullavator requires at least 4 inches of additional length past the feet in order to function.
If you have flush rails, I recommend the following setup:
- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2 # Y00425
- SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4 # Y53TR
- Landing Pad 19 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers - Qty 4 # Y00245
- Yakima Same Key Lock Cores # Y07204
With this roof rack, not only do you receive an extremely aerodynamic system that ultimately gives you a quieter ride and increased fuel efficiently, it also provides you the required 4 addition inches of crossbar length past the feet in order for the Hullavator to function properly. I went ahead and attached a video of this exact setup on a 2017 Honda CR-V to provide you perspective of the fitment. The fit on your 2018 model is nearly identical.
If you have a bare roof, I recommend the following crossbar setup:
- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2 # Y00425
- BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4 # Y28TR
- BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 2 # Y06188
- BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 2 # Y06189
- Yakima Same Key Lock Cores # Y07204
Since this system also uses the JetStream crossbars, you receive the same benefits as the previous setup. It also provides you with the required 4 inches of additional crossbar length past the feet you need for the Hullavator.
As far as maximum weight capacity, both roof rack systems recommended provide you with 165 pounds. As with all roof rack systems, I recommend consulting with your Honda owner's manual to make sure your roof can handle the weight you wish to transport.
