Updated 03/21/2022 | Published 03/20/2022 >
Question:
Hello, what is the difference between this hitch and Teslas own hitch? They rate theirs as only 160 lbs. Is this hitch migrated on your end? If not , can you share why this hitch is twice the TW capacity?

The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH39FR which is a fit for a 2021 Tesla Model Y has a 3,500 lb gross trailer weight and 350 lb tongue weight rating. That said, these ratings are for the hitch only which is tested separately of the vehicle. You'll have to verify the trailer and tongue weight capacity of the vehicle in the owner's manual and abide by the lowest rated component whether it's the hitch or vehicle. In most cases, the hitches are rated for more than the vehicle.
