Will ST175/80R13 Tire Fit Harbor Freight 1720 Trailer

I have a Harbor Freight trailer 1720. Would this fit as a good replacement for my 5.30-12 5 lug. Looking for a higher speed rating over 65mph. Worried they would be to big.

The main issue when switching from a 5.30-12 tire to the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 13" White Mini Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM31991 is going to be clearance. It looks like you have a fender on the Harbor Freight 1720 so you will have to measure and potentially remove if if you want to use the larger tire.

The # AM31991 has an outer diameter of 24.1" and a section width of 7". When compared to something like the # AM30790 with a 5.30-12 tire you will lose 1.1" of clearance on the top as well as 0.7" of clearance on the inside of the tire. At a minimum you want 3" of clearance on the top for suspension travel and 2" of clearance on the inside of the tire. If you measure and find you have enough clearance then you will be able to use the # AM31991.
