Question:
Im in the process of getting a hitch for my Sorento. Currently, the trailer that I plan to tow will be very light modified utility trailer for kayaks and camping gear. However, I also found a Sky Chair stand that fits into a hitch that I plan to get as well, so Id like to get as high of a TW as possible I was thinking Class III. I called the dealer and was told that it would cost ~$900, I decided to look online and found your site. When I spoke to the dealership, they stated that I needed the full harness which they said was almost 200. After reading some of the other posts, I decided to look behind the drivers side wheel and found a couple of connectors. I attached a couple of photos so that you can see it. It looks like its the right one, but the picture of the harness doesnt have a good angle to make absolute sure. With that said, what hitch and harness should I get? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

According to my research, the 6 cylinder models of the Sorento like your SX can tow up to 3500 lbs.
I would recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13073. If your Sorento was equipped with the factory tow package, you would use the # C56332 you referenced. If your vehicle does not have the factory tow package, then the connectors you located under the vehicle are most likely not active, and you would need to use # 118506, which would plug inline with the factory wiring harness feeding the drivers and passenger side tail light assembly, with one wire being ran under the vehicle to the positive battery terminal.
I have linked you to an FAQ article showing how to run the power wire, as well as to some install videos that you might find helpful.
