What Are The Bolts In The 24" Extension For etrailer Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier Used For?

Ref 24inch Extension for entailer Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier. I see bolts sticking out the side, my question is what are they used for? Plus I looked at the instructions and it is not in detail. Is there some then missing on the install and assembly instruction. Thanks

The bolts in the 24" Extension # e99052 are for mounting to either the 24x40 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e99050 or 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e99049. This will turn either carrier into the larger 24x64 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e83YR or 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e96ZR.
