Question:

I have a 2022 Ram 2500 with the factory in bed mounting points for towing. Do I have to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch or will a fixed hitch still fit?

Both the B&W Slider # BWRVK3670 and Fixed # BWRVK3600 will fit in the factory prep/puck system that you have in your 2022 Ram 2500 short bed. A sliding hitch is generally used so that if you get into a tight place as most campgrounds are you will be able to make full jack knife turns with your trailer. A fixed hitch will limit your turning as the hitch pin will be to close to your cab and risk contacting the cab against the corners of the trailer when maneuvering the trailer.

If you have a rotating pin box like the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR you can use the fixed pin box with out having to worry about contacting your frame. The Sidewider moves the trailer pivot point to mount on your trailer rather than the 5th wheel hitch. This ensures there is enough clearance with a fixed hitch.
