Expert Reply:
I recommend replacing your 7,000 lb axles with the same 7,000 lbs axles you had on your trailer, and to do this all you need to know is a couple of measurements. To determine the correct replacement, you simply need to measure from hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center on your current axles to get the right fit. There are two different lengths for Dexter 7k axles:
- 95" Hub Face to Hub Face/80" Spring Center to Spring Center: Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327834
- 94" Hub Face to Hub Face/79" Spring Center to Spring Center: Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327864
The most important is the hub face measurement, as it is possible to have new spring seats welded to the axle beam at a different location.
