Question:
I HAVE A 1978 GOOSENECK STOCK TRAILER THAT WAS MADE FOR A LOWER HITCH LEVEL THAN MY STOCK DODGE 4X4 2500 CUMMINS AND CONSEQUENTLY THE TRAILER RIDES HIGH IN THE FRONT AND LOW IN THE REAR. THE TRAILER CURRENTLY HAS 15 INCH TIRES AND WHEELS ON IT. SHORT OF CHANGING THE HITCH ON THE TRAILER I AM LOOKING FOR THE BEST WAY TO LEVEL THE TRAILER OUT. IT LOOKS LIKE I COULD FIT 16 INCH TIRES AND WHEELS EASILY BUT I AM UNSURE IF THAT WILL MAKE ENOUGH DIFFERENCE. ANY IDEAS AND REFERENCE MATERIAL WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

There are a few options for raising a trailer but they are specific to the axle/suspension setup. The most common of which are leaf spring axles and if this is what you have we have both axle flip kits like the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-385-00 or part # K71-384-00 or hanger extension kits like the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit part # RR23QX or part # RR55QX.
Please note, if the axles are already under the leaf springs then an axle flip kit would do you no good and a hanger extension kit will be your best option. If you were to use larger wheels/tires, the gains in height would be miniscule.
