Question:
Hello. I just got a 2022 Ford Ranger and I need to get a brake controller put in it so I can tow a camper. I am looking at and really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite. What do I need to get this installed? I only have a 4 prong plug for trailers on the back so I assume I will need more than that. Thanks for your help.

Since your 2022 Ford Ranger already has a 4-Flat on it, it will make life a bit easier. You are correct in that you will need more than this to get brakes on a trailer working with a controller, but our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 has everything you need to accomplish this. This will include all the wiring, circuit breakers, 7-Way plug, and the bracket needed to mount the 7-Way, so it is all inclusive. I included an install video of this being put on a 2011 Ranger for you to check out as it will be much the same on your 2022.
I to really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR and it would be the controller I would add to my Silverado if I ever need to add a brake controller. I don't think there is another controller on the market that will have a cleaner looking install once completed than this. Since it can handle up to 3 axles (6 brake assemblies) and works with both electric and electric over hydraulic brake systems, it is also very capable. Once the # ETBC7 kit is installed and connected to this controller, you are good to go.
