Question:
Hi: I have a Karavan 6x10 utility trailer that I want to add breaks to I sent a previous request for help but did not have the axle info. I figure that the axle is a Meher axle with a 3,750 lbs capacity. I want to have self-adjusting breaks. I think that two 84546UC3-EZ Drum and one set of 23-468-469 breaks along with the electrical wires is what I need, just want to make sure that is the case, Thank you!

From my research, it looks like your 3750 lb axles use the same bearing kit as a standard 3500 lb axle. I wasn't able to determine from the Mehler Group website which bearings your spindles use, but you can easily determine that by pulling one of your hubs.
As long as the bearings on your current hub are an L68149 inner and an L44649 outer, and your current wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, the # 84546UC3-EZ hub drums you mentioned would be compatible. Your photo shows that the axle does have a brake mounting flange, so the Dexter # 23-468-469 self adjusting brake assemblies would be compatible.
To wire up the brakes, you'll need a 7-way connector for the trailer. I'd recommend a combination connector/junction box, part # HS381-9000. The junction box provides a good place to tie in the 7-way to the existing lighting circuits for the trailer, as well as adding the wiring for the brakes. The junction box will keep your connections nicely organized and protected from the elements. You'll also need a length of # 10-1-1 brake wire, which we sell by the foot.

Hello, I have an identical Meher axle on my Karavan trailer as Aaron, same part number and Descr. also looks identical to the pictures Aaron attached. If you notice on the right-hand picture, the flange is not square, it extends some distance down at the bottom. Will the recess on the back of the brake assembly's 23-468-469 accommodate this extra length in the flange. Dennis
