Question:
2017 transit 350hd cutaway. I have a Knapheid utility body on this vehicle so it’s always loaded. What would you recommend to install for better stability and take the sag out of the rear with 100k miles now. I’m debating timbrem or the Firestone air bags. The truck is always loaded and near max gvw of 9950 lbs all the time. It’s basically sitting close or on the bumpstops since new

The best overall option for suspension enhancement for your 2017 Ford Transit 350 cutaway, that will do the most to both help with sag and add stability, is definitely the Firestone air bags, with the correct fit (keep in mind this is for single rear wheel models only) being the following part number:
- Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F53ZR
The Ride-Rite # F53ZR air bags will give your Transit the best support, but also a more comfortable ride compared to the Timbrens, which are hollow rubber so they can be harsh, particularly since your Transit is always loaded so they will engage so often.
The Firestone air bags won't have that issue, but that doesn't mean they aren't strong; they are most well-constructed air bags available. The Ride-Rite air bags are made with four layers of reinforced rubber, which is the thickest rubber of any air bag for the best durability. They will inflate up to 100 psi to give your Transit's suspension the added support it needs, which is going to help level and stabilize it for improved handling and responsiveness.
The only other thing I highly recommend, in order to keep the air bags properly inflated - and to make it much easier to do so - is a compressor, the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Bluetooth - EZ Mount # AL58WQ.
The # AL58WQ will automatically adjust your air pressure to whatever psi you set so your Transit will always have the support it needs, and be adjusted exactly to your liking.
