Question:

I see you have two options. I understand the Draw Tite has a higher tongue rating. Does the Curt hitch have the same light bracket kind of ugly if not used? Will a 7 pin adapter come later? Although I do not have plans to use it as a tow rig and this is mostly for bike racks and cargo hauler, it would be nice to have the capability for lights. My vehicle has the tow prep package but does not seem to come with an easy way to do trailer lights.

As the maximum towing capacity for a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is 7,200 pounds and the maximum tongue weight capacity is 720 pounds (equipped with all-wheel drive and the 5.7L V8), either hitch will be limited by the capacity of your vehicle. With that said, the American made Curt # C97JR is the hitch I tend to recommend, though it does not come with the wiring bracket the Draw-Tite # DT42GR has. Curt doesn't use this bracket on any of their hitches, unfortunately, but this does not mean that you are out of luck.

The No-Drill Mount # 18140 will attach to the cross tube of a hitch and will therein create this bracket to mount a wiring harness. You will still need the # PK12711U for a 7 Way or the # 18144 for a 4 Flat , but it does make this a lot easier. These brackets will have no issue fitting behind the bumper bracket that will cover the hitch when not in use, so no issues there.
