Can a Universal Breakaway Switch Be Used with Blue Ox Patriot Braking System

I bought a patriot USED but it didn’t come with the break away switch so I bought a generic one from the auto parts store. What kind of plug do I need to wire it to the controller? And will that switch work?

The Blue Ox Patriot Braking Systems like part # BLU37TR all use a proprietary breakaway switch so you must use one from Blue Ox, the Second Vehicle Breakaway Kit for Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking Systems part # BRK2505 which also comes with the lead. It's more expensive than a universal breakaway but your only option if you want to stick with the Patriot.
