Question:

Hitch mount C13163 There are 6 bolts, 2 slide through frame 2 are supposed to tighten up to a weld nut on frame. This Mitsubishi Outlander does not have the weld nuts. Have you seen this before and is there a way to fix it?

Yes, we have seen this before and there is a solution so you can still mount your Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13163 to your 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. You will need a bolt leader like item # 80101-1 with a carriage bolt block through an open portion of your frame to basically act as a weld nut so you can install the hitch. I attached a video on how to do this.

You will need to source a carriage bolt (it will have square shoulders under the head of the bolt) the correct matching spacer block and nut.

I got the same problem. CURT included the leader tool, carriage bolt, and bolt block in the bolt package that came with the hitch. Unfortunately the bolt block is too large to fit inside the access hole on the frame. I blame mitsubishi for making too many versions of the frame. I will make it work by either machining the block or finding a way to get a nut inside the frame, but people with outlander phevs be aware you may be in for a big hassle.
