Question:

i didnt notice this new 2022 equinox doesn`t have ports or rails for a roof rack , i would rather have a rack that is installed on / in the metal of the top . Everything i looked @ on line shows to clamp it on side or door ? I`m sure someone could drill through roof and anchor some ports . please advise .thanks

I have an answer for you. Unfortunately, if you are looking to drill into your roof to install a roof rack on your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, we do not have anything that we have tested as far as a drill-on solution for your bare roof.

With that being said, the best solution is the Yakima 54" Tracks for Roof Racks # Y01127 along with 4 of the Yakima Control Tower - Qty. 1 # Y8890027 and two sets of the Landing Pad 1 # Y00221 (Qty. 2). With these components, you will be able to attach Yakima Round Bars like the Round 48" Crossbars # Y00408.

It is important to note that, based on the length of your roof, you may need to cut the 54" inch tracks down to size. Also, you may need to drill nuts at different locations designated in the owner's manual if you have a defined curvature of your roof.

However, with all this being said, the system we recommend is a clip-on roof rack system that involves the following parts:
