Question:
Can I install a cut off switch before auxiliary battery and l leave the rest as instructed. Will it hurt the BCDC if I start the engine and the BCDC has no auxiliary to charge?

I spoke with Redarc and installing a cutoff switch like the # 277-000096 between the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 50 Amp # 331-BCDC1250D and the auxiliary battery will not damage the unit at all. You will get a low voltage output battery fault, but since you know the cause is the cutoff you can just ignore it.
