Question:

I am looking to replace the tires on my 2005 Trails West Two Horse Slant trailer. Tires it currently has on it are 225/75R15 8 plys Bias. Max tire pressure on the side of my trailer says 50 PSI. Local dealer suggested I bump up to radial 10 plys with max 80 PSI and run at 80 PSI, however I plan to buy online from you guys and would like to know if I should stick with the 65 PSIs or bump up to the 10 plys. My max load, including the trailer weight is about 8000 lbs, but its generally around 6000 lbs.

Radial tires do track better and run cooler so I would say that going to radials would be a good idea. A trailer tire by itself like # AM10303 is rated for 2,830 pounds at 80 psi. The higher capacity tires will not increase the trailer capacity but since they are rated for more weight they ought to last longer.

Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi as indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires have a thicker side wall and if they are under inflated they will build up more heat and fail.
