Can i Carry A Kayak On The Roof Of My 2007 Saturn Ion

Question:

My Saturn does not have a Built on roof rack, do you sell a roof rack that can be clamped to the frame of my roof and can be locked so I can use the TH898 assist lift? Thank you

I will be able to get you setup with with a roof rack for your 2007 Saturn Ion. You will have to go with the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack - Vacuum Cup Mount - 48" Long - Black, part # 298-SX6000B, since there is not a traditional roof rack that is compatible with your vehicle. It is a vacuum cup roof rack that has a weight limit of 165 lbs, but you should also check your owner's manual to find out how much weight you can carry on the roof of your vehicle. Once you have that weight, you should adhere to the lower amount between those two weights. This roof rack is also not going to be compatible with the Thule Hullavator.

I do have a solution that might work for you, if you need a load assist setup for a kayak. You could get the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Side Loading. part # MPG114MD-351XL. This J-style carrier will attach to your Monkey Bars Roof Rack. It comes with cam straps and bow and stern tie-downs. This lift-assist system will attach to your kayak carrier's loading ramps and support the weight of your kayak as you lift it onto your roof.
