Question:
I just got a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and we are planning a road trip around the US with our family. We want to tow the Colorado rather than having to drive 2 different vehicles. What do I need to be able to tow this vehicle?

First you will need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM78VR for attaching to the front of your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. This will provide you with a solid base for the tow bars to connect. You will be able to remove the arms for a cleaner appearance.
To connect to your tow vehicle the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676 are the bars I recommend. These are heavier bars capable of towing a vehicle up to 8,000lbs. This will allow you to carry additional gear in your Colorado that you will need in the truck. The RoadMaster Nighthawk All Terrain Towing Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 will provide you with the covers, locks, safety cables, wiring and storage bag needed for towing your Colorado. Your Colorado will require that the battery be disconnected when you are towing. For that I recommend using the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766. This will allow you to more easily ready your vehicle for towing.
Due to the weight of your Colorado most states will require you to have a supplemental braking system. The Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524 will meet the requirements for that. This braking system can be used with nearly all vehicles and stores away nicely when not needed. It has a monitor that you can place in your tow vehicle to be able to monitor and adjust the brake system while towing. A charge line is included so that you can ensure that it will not drain the battery on your Colorado and will work with the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect.
You may require a hitch adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-048-4 to level your tow bars. The bar height should not differ by more than 3" from your Colorado to the tow vehicle. This adapter allows you to keep the bars within level if they are more than 3" off but less than 7". If you have more than 7" let me know the difference and I can recommend the correct adapter.
