Question:

I ordered the Strait-line from etrailer in June 2021 Order111548110. Problems with the Dual Cam HP installation instructions: #1. Measurement for the standard coupler should be longer than 18. That made me go all of the way out to the end on my cam adjustment. That barely made the bars fit right in the cradle. No more adjustment out could be made. #2. The rivet nuts should be slightly larger diameter than what was sent. They do not fit tight in the 11/16 hole. So the only thing keeping the thing together in the frame right now is the keeper nut in the back. Found that out on my 6th trip with the system when the keeper nut got loose and the bolts in the frame were found to be loose in the holes. Dangerous! Is the solution to drill all of the way through or is there a better rivet nut available?

The distance from the center of the coupler to the center of the sway control arm should be 19-3/8" for overslung couplers which you can see in the photo attached below. In regards to the sway control cam bracket, the hole size is indeed 11/16". It's possible the rivet nuts are undersized but in all honestly, incorrectly drilling out the holes is much more likely but we do offer replacement rivet nuts part # RP58507 to confirm. If you can find a way into the frame to bolt the brackets on then you're welcome to do so as well assuming you have a boxed frame. Otherwise, you would need to use the rivet nuts and possibly re-drill in a new spot slightly forward or back of the existing.
