The Tow Ready harness # 118362 will fit your 2001 Nissan Frontier. It will install by plugging into a wiring harness, which is located at the rear, near the passengers-side frame rail. I have included links to the instructions for you.
The Tow Ready harness is very popular and has a high rating and would work well for you. It is rated for 2.1 amps per side for stop/turn lights and 4 amps per side for running lights.
