Question:
I reading reports from some sites that the CVT on my Murano doesn’t recommend an auxiliary transmission cooler because it lowers the flow of the fluid and that the CVT is supposed to run at a higher temperature. What’s your take on this?

When it comes to installing a transmission cooler for a vehicle with a CVT transmission like your 2014 Nissan Murano, what matters is the cooling lines. If you have cooling lines that run from the transmission to the radiator then you can install a transmission cooler. If you do not have these lines running to the radiator, installation of an after-market transmission cooler is not recommended.
If your vehicle has these lines, you want to get the largest transmission cooler that will fit between your grille and ac condenser core in order to have the most air flow. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503. The overall dimensions of this plate-fin cooler are 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. This will work well as long as you have the required space.
If you aren't sure if you have the lines or not, I recommend reaching out to a local Nissan dealership to find out.
I have attached an installation video on a 2007 Nissan Murano, along with a helpful article on transmission coolers for your reference.
