Question:

I installed the base plate Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM-521453-5. Now I am putting everything back together. The bumper is installed. The instructions speak about trimming the plastic rock guard? This will not fit unless I cut out the hole for the arms? Also, is the frame guard supposed to be trimmed also? It sounds like in the instructions that I am supposed to cut off the ends of the frame guard and re-install them? The holes that the frame guard used to be mounted too, are now covered up with the baseplate attachments. So how am I supposed to mount the frame guard? It appears that these ends are supposed to be installed because they contain attachment points for the rock guard? But i am not sure where to attach these?

Yes, you will have to trim the plastic rock guard to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521453-5 on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The baseplate kit will not fit unless the rock guard has been trimmed.

You are correct, the frame guard does also gets trimmed. The tabs you cut off get reinstalled behind the base plate tube. The frame guard does not get reinstalled, but you will want to hang on to it in case you ever remove the baseplate.

The plastic rock guard will then get reinstalled, it will still be able to be reinstalled with the fasteners along the front edge, underneath your Jeep.
