Do You Recommend Using the Kuat Transfer # KU64FR with My E-Bike with Fenders on My 2016 Mazda CX-5?

My Gazelle ebike has a front fender. Can the hook be placed on the tire in front of the fender or does it have to be up against the fork

Here at etrailer, we do not recommend using a wheel-mount bike rack like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # KU64FR for bikes with fenders. The reason why is because no matter where the hooks are attached, there is always the possibility that the hook can shift on the wheel and crack or damage the fenders. The racheting hook will not be able to attach to the front fork.
With that being said, we do not carry any single-bike options that attach via frame. The next best option is the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SA4412B or the Fat Bike version # SA4412B-FB. The Freedom has a 60-pound per-bike weight capacity (the same as the Kuat Transfer) and has independently adjustable cradles that will fit virtually any bike frame style. For this particular rack, you do not need a bike frame adapter bar because of the independently-adjusting cradles.
If you need a hitch receiver that is compatible with the rack, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902. The etrailer hitch is a great economical option that has plenty of tongue weight (up to 600 pounds) to hold a rack and your bike. I recommend you consult with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can handle that much weight.
