We can get you setup with a brake controller for your 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. The nice thing is once you have the brake controller setup you will be ready to go since your Ram 1500 already has 4-way and 7-way connectors installed. My brake controller recommendation will consist of the following:
Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, part # RED44FR and
Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers, part # 331-TPH-020.
This brake controller is proportional, so your trailer's braking will be based on your vehicle's braking. If you are coming to a gradual stop, your brake controller will signal your trailer's brakes to stop gradually. If you have an emergency braking situation, your trailer braking system will respond accordingly with this brake controller. The other nice thing about this brake controller is that it can be oriented in any direction in the cab of your vehicle, which gives you many more places to mount this controller "out of the way." The wiring harness is also custom for your vehicle. One end of the harness will plug into the wiring in your 2022 Ram 1500 Classic underneath the dash on the driver's side of your vehicle. The other end of the harness will plug into your brake controller. The only thing that will indicate you have a brake controller in your vehicle is the small control knob that you can use to set your trailer's braking force if you need to control it manually.
I have included product description links and a video review link below.
