Replacement Shackle Strap and U-Bolt for Boat Trailer Bunk Brackets

Question:

I need to replace the bunk brackets on a 2002 Karavan PWC trailer. The bracket uses a shackle strap with a u-bolt to attach to the cross member, which is 2inch square. Im having a little trouble figuring out the right size shackle strap and u-bolt to use. I think I need the 2-3/4inch shackle strap CE14103G Can you help me with the right u-bolt for that?

You should be able to measure the old shackle strap and u-bolt to get the correct size replacement. Measure the center to center distance between the holes and the diameter of the holes on the shackle strap. Shackle strap # CE14103G that you have referenced measured 2-3/4 inches from hole center to hole center and the diameter of the holes is 9/16 inches. A u-bolt can probably be found easily at a local hardware store. Just take the old bolt with you to compare.

The u-bolts you referenced # 7162184UB, would fit around a 2 inch square frame but they are 7/16 inches so they would not be an exact fit for a 9/16 inch shackle strap.

We do have a variety of boat trailer parts including brackets and related items. I have incldued a link to the boat trailer part main page for you.
