Can The Surco Universal Exterior RV Ladder Be Shortened

Question:
We have a Coachman Clipper 16RDB. Because the design, we would need to mount the ladder on the port side of the camper but the ladder is two long. Can the ladder be shortened at the midsection or is that an area reenforced for added strength? Can the caps on the steps be removed and the steps repositioned? Thank you.

We do not recommend to modify the Surco Universal Exterior RV Ladder # SP502L to fit your camper as it may compromise the structural integrity of the ladder. However, if you choose too, you should be aware that the steps are welded to the frame of the ladder and are not able to be repositioned.
