What is the Purpose of the Green Arm on the Ark Articulating Off-Road Coupler

Green little arm on the coupler, whats it for? thank you

When the Ark Articulating Off-Road Coupler for 2" Receivers - Trailer Side - 2" Ball # AR44FR is unlocked you will see a red area on the opposite side that says unlock. This means the coupler is ready to go onto the hitch ball. After you align the coupler and lower it onto the tow ball it will engage the auto lock and you will see the green "arm" indicating it is locked on.
I have attached a review video where this is demonstrated and you can see it switch from red to green after connecting to the tow ball.
