Question:

I have a 2022 ford f250 short bed and am looking to install a gooseneck hitch. I want to use it to tow my 5th wheel trailer that has the reese goosebox. Which gooseneck hitch do you recommend?

For your 2022 Ford F-250 I recommend going with the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1116 due to it being a top of the line gooseneck hitch, but also due to it being compatible with a 4" offset ball, the # BWGNXA4085.

With your truck being a short bed you will likely not be able to make very sharp turns as the Reese Goose Box was designed around an 8' bed, but you can measure to see how much clearance you will have.

The formula is :

(A + B) - C = Clearance

A = Distance from the center of the gooseneck ball to the back of the truck cab
B = Length of offset (4")
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)

If you have 4" or more clearance you can make a full 90 degree turn, and any less than 4" means you cannot. If you do not have 4" of clearance you will need to be very careful when turning sharp to avoid any trailer to cab interference.
