i really want a water proof tonneau cover for my 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5-1/2' bed without the ram box option. Which one do you recommend and why?

For your 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5-1/2' bed I recommend going with the TruXedo Sentry CT Hard Tonneau Cover # TX1585916 as it has some great features such as the hybrid design of being made out of 3/4" thick aluminum slats along with 5-layer polyester and vinyl make this cover very durable while still looking nice, and the rubber seals along the edges of the cover keep water and dust from getting in.

This cover fits inside of the bed rails keeping the stake pockets clear so you could add a ladder rack such as the Thule TracRac SR # TH57RV in the future without needing to remove the tonneau cover.

For additional waterproofing I recommend adding the TruXedo Universal Tailgate Truxseal # TX1703206 to go around the edges of your tailgate and keep additional water and dust from being able to get in.
