Question:
I have a 2018 Mazda 6 with the Curt c11356 class 1 hitch. I am looking for a tray style bike rack which uses ratcheting arms on the tires to hold the bikes secure. Will the RockyMounts Westslope work in this application?

Yes. The RockyMounts WestSlope # RKY10222 is compatible with a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver like the Curt # C11356 you've got on your 2018 Mazda 6. Since the WestSlope doesn't come with any locks included you may consider adding them with the Cable Lock and Hitch Lock for RockyMounts WestSlope Bike Racks # RKY10224 to provide some added security.

I noticed the trend of all 1.25" hitch bike rack being said compatible with Class I hitch at etrailer. This doesn't sound right. For example, for the product in question here, in RockyMounts website, it is clearly written none of their bike racks are to be used on Class I hitch. There is not much option with Class I hitch mounted bike racks. Just because the rack fits into 1.25" hitch, doesn't mean it is compatible with both Class I and Class II rated hitches. Can you please explain why such misinformation is being provided here?
