Unfortunately because my car is a basic model, the roof is made of rough plastic and not glass. For this reason, I do not think your recommendation will work in this case. Is there any other option?

I went ahead and reached out to SeaSucker, and he confirmed that the SeaSucker Talon Roof Bike Rack - Fork Mount # 298-BT1004 will work on all plastic surfaces as long as the surface is not porous (doesn't allow water to seep through). In addition, our install team has tested the same vacuum cups on the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B on the roof of a 2016 Smart fortwo successfully. Unfortunately, we do not have any other options for a roof-mounted bike rack without the use of the vacuum cups.
