Question:
I have had 4 tires come apart in the last year on a 11,900lb 5th wheel with 2 axels in the last year. And the camper doesnt get run more than 5,000 miles a year? Iput 4 new tires on august of last year and i lost one Sunday coming home. Thinking about going to a LT tire instead of a 10 ply 235/80/16 trailer tire? Help!!!!!!!!!

There are several factors that can cause a tire to come apart, the most common of which is heat buildup. The best way to prevent this is to closely monitor the tire pressure and temperature which can be done with a TPMS. I recommend the TST TPMS for RVs part # TST-507-RV-4-C which features simple screw on sensors and a dash mounted monitor. This system will allow you to set alerts so you can be warned when temperatures/pressures are in conditions susceptible to a blowout.
In regards to replacement 235/80-16 tires, we don't have any LT options but we do have ST options for which I recommend the Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire part # TTWTRTM2358016E. Simply switching to LT tires won't reduce blowouts. You must first address the root cause such as overloading, improper pressure, etc.
