E6 Error on Furrion Water Heater

Updated 04/14/2025 | Published 09/22/2021

Question:

Turn on the hot water in our camper and the sensor started beeping and the error message said E6. What do we do? Could it be that we need to change propane tanks?

The E6 error you are getting from the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR could be from a variety of different things. I have added a cut out from the manual which goes over what the E6 error code means.

It is unlikely you need to change your propane tanks, it is most likely that there is air in your water lines, so run all of your faucets, both hot and cold, leaving them open to purge the air. Also check to ensure you have a full water tank, and that your water flow is sufficient and your filter isn't plugged, as well as checking to see if your shower head and outdoor faucet valves are leaking cold water to hot side.

If these things don't work you could have a system fault for which you'd need to contact the manufacturer, Furrion.

Do you do this while the hot water heater is on

@Marquette Yes, you will want to do this while it's on. If you're getting an E6 error on your Furrion RV tankless water heater # FR93FR, you should do most of the troubleshooting with the heater turned on, since the error happens while the system is running. This code usually means there's a sudden spike in water temperature, which can be caused by things like air in the water lines, not enough water flow, or cold water leaking into the hot water line. One of the first things to try is running all your faucets both hot and cold for a while to let any air out of the lines. Make sure your fresh water tank is full (or your city water is turned on all the way), and check your water filter to see if it’s clogged. You should also check your shower head and outdoor faucet valves to make sure cold water isn’t leaking into the hot side. If your water flow is too low (less than 0.32 gallons per minute), the heater might also show this error. All of these steps should be done with the system on so you can see if the problem clears up. It’s not likely to be your propane tanks if the burner is lighting. Let me know how things work out Marquette.
