Yes, you can install a Thule Hullavator to your 2012 Nissan Murano with a factory rack. However, you cannot attach it to your vehicle's OEM factory crossbars. Your crossbars must extend between 4" and 8" beyond the towers in order to attach a Thule Hullavator Pro. This is why the Hullavator Pro is not compatible with factory roof racks, their crossbars terminate at the towers. You will have to install an aftermarket roof rack in order for you to be able to install the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs - Side Loading, part # TH898, to your vehicle in order for the Hullavator Pro to be compatible with your vehicle.

You will have to get the following:

Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2, part # TH711520
Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Factory Raised Rails - Qty 4, part # TH710401, and the
Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4, part # TH450400.

This rack will attach to the raised rails of your 2012 Nissan Murano. These crossbars will provide with the necessary overhang that will allow you to attach the Thule Hullavator to your roof. I also included locks so you can lock the roof rack to your vehicle. The crossbars have a t-channel so they will work with traditional roof rack accessories and those that attach via that channel. The crossbars are elliptical in shape to help reduce wind noise and aid in fuel efficiency.
