Question:

Is this item steel... nothing plastic that could melt if exposed to heat? I want to use it for a forge in my farrier truck. Ill build a heat shield but, it could still get warm. I like this one due to the over-extension, which will slide out well beyond the end of the truck bed w/ Linex and near the tail light.

The MORryde Refrigerator Tray for RV Cargo Compartment - Side Pull - 26-1/2" x 18" # MR39RR is constructed of steel, but it does have a plastic handle. This may work for you, but keep in mind it technically was not designed to be used with hot devices and has not been tested in that aspect.

I recommend looking into one of the trays that are designed to be used with hot devices like generators. For this, the MORryde Generator Tray - 22-3/4" x 16-1/4" # MR49RR could be what you are looking for. Or if you need a larger size then you could go with MORryde Generator Tray - 25-3/4" x 26-1/4" # MR79RR.
