I checked with my contact in the Tech services department at Fulton, who tells me that it is indeed acceptable to install the # FHDPB340301 fold-away coupler hinge by welding instead of bolting. If your trailer tongue is galvanized, be sure to install it in a well ventilated area as welding on galvanized metal can give off toxic fumes.
