Replacement Motor FVK8017-00 Stopped and Then Started Again After Being Tapped

Question:

I just replaced the fantastic fan motor in my 2004 Cardinal with your replacement fan. Everything seems to work for a couple of hours then the fan slowed down and made a ticking noise. I just tap on the motor and it took back off like it should and the noise was gone. Any suggestions?

It sounds like there could be one of three things going on with your Replacement Fan Motor Assembly Kit for Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Fans # FVK8017-00.

The first reason doesn't really have a way to test, but they may have just been something that worked its way into the motor and caused it to get stuck. When you tapped the motor, it then broke loose and worked its way back out. Stranger things have happened and if it has not happened again, this is pretty likely.

If it does happen again and or continues to happen, I suggest checking your ground connections. A bad ground can cause any number of odd things to happen, this included. The spinning of the fan may have worked the ground a little loose, hence the clicking, and then when you tapped it, the ground reconnected. This can be easily fixed by checking your grounds and tightening them down if they are loose.

However, if your grounds are all good and it continues to stop and or click, it will most likely need to be replaced. In this case, you will need to contact our Customer Service at either 1-800-298-8924 or by email at [email protected]. All you will need is your order number and we can get you all squared away.
