Is Clicking Sound Normal for Curt Brake Controller When Brake Pedal is Pressed

Question:

Is it normal to hear clicking from my center console when I depress the brake pedal? No trailer attached. 2021 Chevy Colorado

A clicking sound isn't totally normal I would say but the Curt brake controllers like the # C74VV are a little more prone to that kind of thing. If you are seeing a dot on the display indicating that a trailer is not connected you would be fine, but if you are seeing green bars show up which indicates that it thinks a trailer is connected that would mean you most likely have dirt or corrosion on the pins of the 7-way which is tricking the controller into thinking a trailer is connected when it is not.
