Lippert Stabilizer Jack PSX1 Won't Extend/Retract And is Popping

Updated 08/12/2021 | Published 08/11/2021

Question:

The rear jacks on my 2021 Grand Design trailer will not retract or detract. I can hear the motor running. I can lower and raise the jacks manually but there is a popping noise and it feels like the jack is in a bind. I sprayed lube on the screw part of the jack. This did not help. Could a bearing have gone out? This is the fourth time I have used the camper.

It isn't likely a bearing if your PSX1 stabilizer jack # LC369774 isn't retracting or extending. There a couple of possibilities, starting with the battery. This can often be overlooked, but a battery that isn't fully charged won't have the power needed for the stabilizer to function properly, so ensure your battery is fully charged.

Another possibility is the wiring at the switch, so you'll want to check and make sure it is not somehow damaged, or if there are any obvious signs the wires are bad. Then test the wiring at the switch to see if you are getting voltage, and if not then you need a new switch, the Replacement Power Switch for Lippert Components High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack - White # LC144214.
