Fuse Rating to Use with Curt Trailer Wiring Harness that Fits 2008 Toyota Highlander
Updated 08/09/2021 | Published 08/08/2021 >
Question:
I installed this harness on my 2008 Toyota Highlander. The fuse supplied with kit for the vehicle under hood fuse box is 10a. My owners manual shows the Trailer Lights/Towing fuse size to be 30a. Am I to use the 10a fuse in order to protect the harness, or use the 30a as shown in the owner’s manual? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Use the fuse rating of 10 amps that comes with the Curt harness part # C56217 as that's the circuit protection the harness needs. 30 amps would be way higher than ever needed under normal circumstances for trailer lighting circuits.
