Usually, when moving components like the hooks of your Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # BA22B become hard to move up and down, it is usually a sign that the moving mechanisms need lubricant. I recommend the Precision Point Grease Gun with Multi-Purpose Grease Lubricant # PT64RR. With the grease gun, you can put the grease on the expandable mechanism on the NV 2.0's wheel hook.
